Emily F. Peters
Emily works with founders, executives, physicians, patients, and policy leaders to bring attention to new ideas in healthcare as CEO and founder of Uncommon Bold. Prior to starting the brand studio, Emily was a 4x startup veteran, building buzz for young companies in fintech and digital health. She’s helped brands be featured in Fast Company, The Atlantic, and The New York Times; has designed co-marketing campaigns with prominent partners; and has assisted with more than $850 million in fundraising announcements. As a survivor of a near-fatal postpartum hemorrhage herself, Emily is a spokesperson for maternal health and blood donation. She is also author of the books Women Remaking Medicine and Artists Remaking Medicine.
Nate Bullis
A talented visual designer based out of San Diego, Nate brings 15 years of experience as an art director and graphic designer, with expertise in print, digital, environmental, and brand design. With a strong editorial background leading design at Seattle Met and SagaCity Media, he enjoys working across multiple disciplines to help clients connect with their audiences. Nate thrives on collaboration and believes the best work is arrived at through creative partnership. He supports Uncommon Bold clients, including HEALI and Chimney Trail Health.
Amber Cooley
Amber powers research and project management work with Uncommon Bold and our creative division, Procedure Press. With a background in alumni development at the University of the Pacific, she brings deep experience in researching, compiling, and analyzing demographic and industry data — helping translate complex information into actionable, strategic insights. She supports major project launches from concept to completion, coordinating timelines and deliverables across teams while analyzing industry trends and client media performance to identify growth opportunities and guide KPIs across PR efforts, engagement campaigns, creative projects, and more.
Ashley Greer
Ashley leads communications programs with more than 15 years of experience in media and public relations based in Los Angeles. With a focus on emerging companies in the health IT sector, she helps build brands, raise awareness, and share stories with the world. Her particular specialties include executive thought-leadership through contributed articles, social media–optimized content, and awards programs. Ashley holds a degree in sociology from the University of San Francisco.
Amanda Griffith
A Boston-based media relations strategist, Amanda has spearheaded coverage efforts for companies big and small during her 25+ years in public relations. A storyteller at heart and the daughter of retired pharmaceutical and medical professionals, Amanda’s passion for healthcare runs deep and drives her dedication to generating buzz for businesses. Her own patient experiences in the areas of mental health, chronic pain, and health IT have served as fuel for her work with some of the best reporters in their respective industries on behalf of organizations such as Lyra Health, LexisNexis Risk Solutions, CareCognitics, and HealthEdge.
Claudia Gutierrez-Smith
Claudia supports Uncommon Bold as our director of operations. She keeps our rapidly growing team and complex projects running smoothly across the organization from her base in Petaluma, California. With more than 17 years in the hospitality and food industry in San Francisco, she specializes in event planning and catering, operations and office management, and human resources coordination. Claudia is also our team’s secret weapon for sourcing thoughtful and creative gifts. She is inspired by the human-centered approach in healthcare and access to good food for good health.
Jenni Jelsing
Jenni is a designer with a passion for helping companies that do good. With 15 years of expertise in print, digital, and brand development, she can work across multiple disciplines to help clients connect with their audiences. Her kind and curious nature makes her a great collaborator, and combined with her knowledge of trends and design, she creates solutions that are modern, aesthetic, and purposeful. In her spare time she enjoys growing food in her Portland, Oregon yard, botanical illustration, board games and rewatching episodes of Ted Lasso.
KT McGraw
KT takes pride in helping clients creatively tell their story and build business value through a four-pronged approach to earned, owned, shared and paid. She is a seasoned storyteller with more than 20 years of experience on both the corporate and agency sides of business. She is passionate about the role of technology and innovation in healthcare and the life sciences and committed to nurturing and growing the next generation of healthcare disruptors. Based in Boston, KT has worked with Uncommon Bold on clients including Lyra Health, Elation Health, and Humana (Kindred at Home).
Linsey McNew
Communications team leader and media specialist, Linsey enjoys empowering teammates across authentic healthcare engagements. Her deep experience designing global programs includes growing the largest multidisciplinary convening, EndWell, to unite physicians, scientists, personalities, artists, birth/death/healthcare workers, designers, payers, providers, marketers, and investors all across technology, healthcare, and policy. Creating viral, celebrity content, and collaboration opportunities resulting in multiple stories such as a feature in The New York Times. Linsey works to shift the cultural thinking around human-centered topics such as serious illness, caregiving, grief and the end of life.
Kaitlin Rebella
Kaitlin has more than 15 years of experience building and executing award-winning strategic communications programs for brands across the nation. She most recently led corporate communications for mental health provider Lyra Health, where she spearheaded integrated communications activities for product launches, global partnerships, and more than $600 million in fundraising announcements. Her current and former clients include the American Medical Association, Blue Shield of California, Health Alliance Plan (HAP), Leader Dogs for the Blind, Microsoft, and General Motors.
Lucy Sansom
Lucy ensures the highest quality in all our final deliverables as an experienced professional proofreader, who previously served several decades on staff at a large Austin, Texas–based advertising agency. Over the years, Lucy has worked on a wide variety of client accounts, including an airline, breweries, restaurants, healthcare, homebuilders, financial institutions, automobile brands, and governmental agencies.
